The Shakespeare Bridge at the far end of Franklin Avenue in Los Feliz was built in 1926 – a public works project, a simple open-spandrel reinforced concrete deck arch bridge – but the designer, J. C. Wright, made it Gothic, with Gothic aedicules at either end. Yes, it’s spooky, and since 1974, a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. It pops up in movies now and then.
