Riding the Continuum (35 images)
Los Angeles street art is often gang-related, when it isn't left-wing political, when it isn't save-the-earth socially conscience stuff with pandas and unicorns. But sometimes the street art is about formal art - riffs on the Cubists and Surrealists, with a nod to an Old Master here and there. That's what's going on here - street art that's slyly references legitimate art, claiming its place in a continuum. This was Melrose Avenue, Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013.
