Before Los Angeles turned all Art Deco in the late twenties, then Streamline Moderne in the thirties, then Mid-Century Modern post-and-beam and glass in the fifties, Los Angeles was Victorian. This is a bit of that – a well-preserved Victorian mansion in the mid-Wilshire district, where the fabulously rich used to live long ago. Now there's an odd Masonic Temple next door, and on the other side of Wilshire, a mysterious church – but this is still standing, and impressive. ~...
